You just need to MOVE your body. If the twinkie diet has brought any good news to the obesity/weight loss world I believe it is that to lose weight you need to burn more calories than you take in.
What does that mean for you? Well, it means that just moving is good for you. I enjoy a good sweaty instructor taught workout, but I can also get a good workout from doing a DVD at home, or from running. We all have our favorite (and least favorite) ways to work out. The important thing is that we start moving.
A pound is roughly 3500 calories. So if you burn 100 calories from exercise a day only, in 35 days you will have lost a pound. Now, if you also eat 400 calories less, you can lose a pound in 7 days. (Want to figure out how many calories you need to eat everyday?)
Doesn’t that sound nice, especially during the holidays when treats seem to be everywhere? So, get to moving. It doesn’t matter what, just find something you think you’ll enjoy. Try it a few times, and if you don’t like it, try something else.

*I have never tried the Wii Fit, or the xbox kinect. I will be trying out the Bob Harper Cardio Conditioning class within the next week or so, I will post a review once I get around to it. I take Zumba, TurboKick, BodyPump and the occasional spinning class at my local gym. I am a fan of the 20 minute workout with the 30 day Shred for days when you don’t have a lot of time.
