Welcome to the regular postings. I hope to upload more than just my daily menus… but I think they’re important to my accountablility, and I hope they can show you that you can eat out, and still make good choices, and that healthy food can be delicious.
Breakfast today: Egg McMuffin from McDonalds. I really need to get to the grocery store. That’s the plan for after work. The Egg McMuffin is one of the better fast food choices. With only 300 calories, it’s not that big of a dent in your day, and the egg and canadian bacon are good filling protein.
Lunch: again, as I haven’t been to the grocery store, I hit up the deli in my building. This is referred to as the “infamous stupid chicken wrap” because I might have a slight obesssion. It’s a wheat wrap with grilled chicken, onions, tomatoes, pickles, jalapenos, cheese, mustard and avocado. Delicious. A bit high calorie wise, I clock this around 700 calories, but the veggies are good, and the banana is much better than a bag of chips.
After work I hit up Kroger for some groceries. And I got the ingredients for suffed bell peppers. Don’t they look yummy?
Recipe from Jenna at Peanut Butter Fingers, I just substituted ground turkey as I couldn’t find ground chicken. Veggies are the star of this meal, the only real calories come from the ground turkey 180.
Stats: calories 300 + 700 + 100 + 180 = 1280. Plus lean proteins (ground turkey, canadian bacon), dairy (cheese) and lots o veggies. Not the best day, but fairly productive.
Off to watch Monday Night Football.
